Call for Applications for the International Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researcher Program

Balıkesir University has launched the admission process for postdoctoral researchers (Postdocs) under the International Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researcher Program in designated faculties, departments, and academic divisions, with the aim of strengthening its scientific research capacity, enhancing international academic collaborations, and supporting high-quality research activities.

Within the scope of postdoc research to be conducted at our university, researchers will be able to participate in scientific research projects at relevant academic units, conduct interdisciplinary studies, engage in national and international publication activities, and utilize research infrastructure.

Applications will be accepted only for the faculties, departments, and academic divisions specified in this announcement.

Application Requirements

• Applicants must be currently enrolled as PhD students at a recognized institution abroad or must have completed their PhD at such an institution.
• Applicants must have sufficient academic background in scientific research and publication activities.
• Applicants must meet the specific requirements determined by the relevant academic unit.
• Applicants must submit a research proposal and a study plan.

Required Application Document

• Application form,
• Curriculum Vitae (CV),
• Student certificate proving enrollment in a PhD program at an institution abroad, or diploma / temporary graduation certificate proving completion of the PhD degree,
• List of publications,
• Research proposal (a brief summary including the objective and methodology of the study),
• International language proficiency certificate (if available),
• Reference letter (optional or required depending on the conditions of the relevant academic unit),
• Supervisor Acceptance Letter (approval letter/email from the relevant faculty member at Balıkesir University),
• Financial Commitment Letter (signed document stating that all expenses will be covered by the applicant).

Evaluation Process

Applications will be evaluated by the relevant faculty/department/academic division based on academic qualifications, field of scientific study, publication performance, and the suitability of the proposed research project.

This program is conducted under a self-funded model. The University provides the academic infrastructure; however, no salary, scholarship, or stipend is allocated to the participant. All personal expenses, such as transportation, accommodation, meals, health insurance, and visa fees, are covered by the researcher or the sending institution in accordance with relevant regulations
